Ok so maybe I am a little slow. I am posting almost a week later...but if you could only see what a mess I have on my hands now that Santa and grandmas and grandpas and aunts and uncles have visited us!! I bet we pick up more than we play!! So this is how our WEEK went.
Monday - Christmas with the Hallers. The twins, Hudson and Griffin, live next door and even tho they arent fully aware of it, they are Liams new Best Friends! haha Mommy Mel and Mommy Court say so! It was both our first Christmas so we shared a little fun time. Its so funny to see them all interact. Huddy and Griff are 5 weeks older than Liam, but they are smaller than he is. Liam stands taller and weighs much more ( they are probably average sized 9 months old...whereas Liam is NOT average sized for 8 months! LOL). They are all at different stages developmentally, so it is fun to see what all they can do! Huddy army crawls EVERYWHERE!! You cant hold that kid down. (He will be the one getting the other two in trouble one day.) Liam crawls...but would prefer to be ON somebody or pulling up. Griff is so laid back. He just sits and watches the other two get in trouble for whatever they arent supposed to be doing! haha Hudson is the only one who really seemed interested in the presents. Liam likes the bows and Griff just liked what was inside, the gift! (I think he is used to letting Huddy do all the hard work...smart little one!) Anyways, we played and I got a taste for what Courtney goes through everyday...aye aye aye...I couldnt hardly contain my own child, much less 2 or 3 of them!! ahaha Court is def SUPER MOMMY of the year to me!
Tuesday - Christmas with the Campbells. Scott and Kristen have been close friends almost since we moved to Tulsa. Last year, 2009, they were blessed with a little girl, Anisten. This year, 1 year and 3 weeks later, we were blessed with Liam. We shared Anistens first Christmas with them last year and this year they shared ours with us. I have to say, I was excited for this Christmas but after watching Anisten open her present...I am WAY more excited about next year! She just ripped and tore through the paper and couldnt wait to see what was inside! She actually wanted what was inside...not just the paper or bow! haha Liam struggled at their house because he is crawling really well now, but they have wood floors and he was just sliding everywhere! lol It took him a minute to figure it out. Anisten and Liam go to the same daycare, so they play well together. Only time we ever have much trouble is when Anisten confuses his passy for her Binky. hahahahaha
Wednesday - Christmas with the Roach/Peterson family. Dean and Krista just got married and moved into our neighborhood this last May. Combined they have 3 kids. Boys that are 5 and 7, and a girl who is 10 going on 16. LOL. We went to their place for dinner and gifts. Liam was slightly scared of his present ( a crawl ball...but he soon LOVED it...)and he was very sleepy. The big kids, however, had a great time with their gifts after we FINALLY let them open them! haha We sat the gifts on the counter where they had to stare at them and they couldnt open any gifts until ALL of their food was eaten! Then they had to wait for us adults to finish our meal. The night was a success and all the kids love their gifts. The adults exchange gifts as well, but we tried to keep it small. :)
Thursday was finish all the present buying and wrapping!! CHAOS
Friday - Christmas Eve in PJs with J's family. Of Course Liam took a 3 hour nap in the middle of the day, but it worked out where we could all eat and open our gifts and save his to be the center of attention!. When he woke up, we sat in the middle of the floor and let him try to open presents. He liked all the bows and paper and could have cared less about the presents. Well...all but 1 or 2. Probably the least expensive gift he got and the most basic gift was his favorite...and still is. hahaha the ring stacker!! Here are a few pics from Christmas Eve in PJ's

Later that night, we were playing with Liam as usual in the evenings and he was being such a little cutie. Watch this video of him getting a kick out of trying to pull himself up on the couch. We still dont know what was so funny, but it was...whatever the cause. LOL
Saturday - Christmas!! That morning we had Liams gift from Santa put together and waiting on him in the floor. He loves it. :) We didnt buy Liam a bunch of stuff bc we knew it would be covered by all the other family, so we just did Santa and stocking stuffers. He got new bath toys in his stocking!

Later that afternoon, my family came up. We were able to have Christmas with my WHOLE family, including my brother, Russell, who hasnt been home in about 2 years. He lives in Alabama and doesnt get the opportunity to come back to OK very often. We had a great time opening gifts and eating dinner, but unfortunately we didnt pull the camera out to capture the gifts. We did make sure to get family pics tho!

We still have 2 more Christmas' to go. One will be this weekend when Elise and Jeremiah come in. The next will be in a week or two with J's cousins Sandra and Sean with their little boy Daniel who is 18 months old.
Overall we were very blessed and have so much more than we thought or could have expected for Liam. Thanks to everyone who helped to make our first Christmas in our new house with LIAM unforgettable.
What a wonderful first Christmas for little Liam. I love the video!! We also loved our ring stacker, it was hard to get rid of that one.
ReplyDeleteP.S. The cute little rocker will make a great timeout chair later :) Just a thought.
